CHIESE ED EDIFICI RELIGIOSI
Il numero delle Chiese e degli edifici religiosi è davvero notevole e molti di essi sono interessanti per le loro peculiari caratteristiche. Quasi tutti hanno un aspetto Tardo Barocco per la ricostruzione dopo il Sisma del 1693, anche se la maggior parte ha origini lontane, come la Settecentesca chiesetta di San Nicola, proprio in cima alla Città eretta al posto ed in memoria di quella precedente, sicuramente in stile bizantino.

The number of churches and religious buildings is truly remarkable, and many of them are interesting for their unique features.
Almost all of them have a Late Baroque appearance due to the reconstruction after the 1693 earthquake, although most have distant origins, such as the 18th-century small church of San Nicola, located at the very top of the city, which was built in place of and in memory of the previous one, which was certainly in the Byzantine style.
