Il Palazzo nel suo nucleo più antico, è sicuramente databile agli anni precedenti il terremoto del 1693; di questa fase conserva un lungo balcone d’angolo su 26 mensoloni in pietra scolpita.
Altri sette mensoloni furono aggiunti in epoca successiva nella parte sul prospetto che affaccia sulla Piazza del Municipio.
The Palace in its oldest nucleus, can certainly be dated to the years before the earthquake of 1693; of this phase it preserves a long corner balcony on 26 carved stone shelves.
Seven other mensolons were added later in the part on the façade overlooking the Town Hall Square.
L’opera di intaglio dei mensoloni si attribuisce a Giandomenico Gagini ed al figlio Antonuzzo.

Vi sono rappresentati figure di sfingi, sirene, mostri, ed altri animali fantastici, cosi come era tradizione in tutti i decori messi in opera per edifici analoghi, sviluppatosi ulteriormente nella ricostruzione dei centri della val di Noto dopo il terremoto del 1693.
There are represented figures of sphinxes, sirens, monsters, and other fantastic animals, as was tradition in all the decorations put in place for similar buildings, developed further in the reconstruction of the centers of the Noto valley after the earthquake of 1693.
