CALTAGIRONE CITTA’ DELL’UNESCO (WORLD HERITAGE LIST)
Caltagirone è il luogo ideale per visitare le località Siciliane inserite nella lista del patrimonio dell’Umanità dell’Unesco.
In poco meno di due ore si raggiunge la Valle dei Templi di Agrigento (SS:417 e 115), passando per gela e il suo museo, le mura Greche di Caposopranoe la limpida Urbanistica Federiciana.
E’ a mezz’ora da Piazza Armerina ( SS.124 e 117bis), il suo magnifico centro storico, la gigantesca Cattedrale e la Villa Romana.
In circa un ora, si raggiungono Ragusa ( SS 124-683e 514), Palazzolo Acreide (SS 124), il suo delizioso Teatro Greco , le sue Chiese.
In mezz’ora Militello in Val di Catania.
Un ora e mezza per Siracusa ( si può percorrere l’autostrada , da Catania, però la SS 124 aprte panorami straordinari sull’Etna, la Piana di Catania e gli Iblei).
Ma Caltagirone è Proprio al centro del Val di Noto, che comprende tuttala Sicilia sul Orientale, da Catania ad Enna e a Licata.
Poco più di mezz’ora per Aidone, con lo straordinario Museo Archeologico dove si può finalmente ammirare nel suo splendore la Venere di Morgantina, e l’area degli scavi della Città con il Teatro, dove in Primavera si svolgono le rappresentazioni classiche delle Scuole ed in Estate le manifestazionio dei Teatri di Pietra.
Le curiosi Città Esagonali di Grammichele ed Avola, i luoghi Verghiani di Vizzini e quelli di Luigi Capuana a Mineo.
La casa natale di Salvatore Quasimodo, a Modica, con le magnifiche Chiese di San Giorgio, San Pietro e della Madonna di Bethlemme.
Il Museo e gli Scavi di Camarina. Il Liberty di Vittoria. I Monumenti di Comiso. Le cave e il Barocco di Scicli.
Insomma, il luogo ideale da dove tracciare itinerari per la scoperta di questa straordinaria Sicilia che le avventure del Commissario Montalbano hanno fatto conoscere a tutto il mondo.
